Decline in reported misconduct is encouraging

For the third year in a row, the outlook for workplace ethics is improving, and the National Business Ethics Survey, conducted by the Ethics Resource Center, has the numbers to show it. But don't get too excited. As usual, there's some bad news along with the good.

Take a look at some of the Ethics Resource Center's findings in the following infographic:

While employees reported observing less misconduct in the workplace than in previous years, they also reported that a large percentage of the misconduct they did observe was perpetrated by managers. This is terrible news for the future of ethics in the workplace. The very people who are supposed to be setting an example of ethical conduct are not behaving too well, it seems.
