Establishing a Code of Ethics for Investigators
Details
Investigators face many ethical dilemmas in the course of their work. The right decision isn’t always obvious and sometimes an investigator must choose to do or say something that crosses into a grey area.
Investigators must hold themselves to a higher standard. To have sufficiently high expectations of their own competence and role in the organization. For their own peace of mind, if needed.
A code of ethics reinforces what investigators already know about ethical behavior, but in a format that they can access and rely on in times of uncertainty. It helps them navigate the grey areas to keep their actions, words and decisions defensible.
Join Meric Bloch, Principal of Winter Compliance as he outlines his code of ethics for investigators, created over the course of a 30-year career in ethics, compliance, law and investigations
